THE CLEVERLY BROTHERS In existence as a music/comedy phenomenon since their emergence at the Village Pump festival in 2001, the Cleverly Brothers have built up a great fan base through regular appearances at The Sidmouth and Trowbridge festivals, and at pubs, clubs and private parties in the south-west. Their cutting observations of everyday life in the Mendips have made them infamous in both the local and national press. They have been called to account on radio to explain their musings, and won a prize on Radio 4 for one of their sketches. The Cleverly motto is: NO VENUE TOO SMALL! NO FEE TOO LARGE! Where did they come from???? Don and Phil occasionally like to adopt their alter egos of Merv Grist (Don) and Tim Webb (Phil). Tim was a member of the legendary Mechanical Horsetrough and has continued as a professional musician leading his own bands as well as working on numerous comedy projects with Merv. He is also an actor, appearing regularly on Casualty as a paramedic! Merv writes books, comics, songs, plays and sketches. He leads comic troupe ‘The Merv Grist Players’ who regularly attract huge audiences to their Sunday shows at The Trowbridge Pump Festival. He is also an artist who’s colourful naïve works are of international renown. THE CLEVERLY BROTHERS at THE VILLAGE PUMP FESTIVAL  The whole audience at the Pump Festival gets ready to do the Clubfooting dance! REVEREND MALIKI COYOTE and THE CHURCH OF AMNESIA Tim and Merv are the brains behind the notorious Reverend Maliki Coyote and his Church of Amnesia. When the whim takes them (and local bye-laws allow), the Cleverly Brothers slip a couple of the good Rev. Coyote’s songs into their set.
